Propelled by future automation-market growth, the temperature transmitter market is expected to surpass $386 million by 2012, according to a new study from ARC Advisory Group (arcweb.com), which ascribes the growth to a stronger emphasis on plant asset management and safety applications, as well as an expected upswing in the adoption of wireless transmitters.

The Asia Pacific region is expected to show strong growth for open operator terminals through 2011.  Implementation of large, complex applications in countries such as China and India is impacting worldwide open operator terminal growth rates, according to IMS Research (imsresearch.com). The new study shows that the majority of companies adopting open operator terminals, designed to fill the gap between touchscreen operator terminals and industrial PC-based products, will have used lower-level products previously, according to the analysts.
