Sensor Basics, Measurement, and Vision Sensors--Sensors

This three-day course is designed to explore advanced sensor technologies from simple object detection to a full featured vision system. The methods of determining how far, how big, how thick, what shape, and the real world application of these in-line measurement and intelligent control sensors are explored. Application examples from markets such as food and beverage, packaging, and automotive industries will be presented. Both hands on time and live product demonstrations are used to show the power and ease of use of each of these smart sensors.

Computers will be provided to ensure hands on experience interacting with the PLC programming software and to create a PLC I/O table. The second and third day course provides basic programming skills for Omron PLC|s. The course will cover wiring to and from the PLC, memory area definitions and mapping. I/O allocations, control strategies and an introduction to programming. Computers will be provided to ensure hands on experience for PLC programming, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
