Moxa recently launched one of the largest solar developments in Orange County, Calif. that will be used to promote communication standards for the solar industry.
The 35,000 ft² 311 kW dc solar photovoltaic (PV) array was developed for use in SunSpec Alliance's upcoming Plug Fest and Application Showcase on Nov. 14 and 15. During the showcase, SunSpec members will demonstrate how SunSpec-compliant hardware works with Moxa's system to monitor power output from different applications and suppliers.

The showcase is geared towards industry professionals who contribute to the day-to-day maintenance and operations of solar PV plants, and IT professionals that participate in sustainable energy operations or use Smart Grid technology. Attendees will have the opportunity to view on-table displays and live demos of operational solar PV power plants, review information technology standards in renewable generation markets, and sit-in on a panel discussion with experts on how multi-vendor interoperability is being achieved now in solar PV and what it means for the industry, according to Moxa.
