By C&M Corporation
C&M, a vertically integrated manufacturer of bulk cable, coil cords and cable assemblies, announced the receipt of Rockwell Automation's Supplier of the Year Award for 2012. This prestigious award was made during a supplier conference held in Milwaukee. This was the second time in three years that C&M has received Supplier of the Year recognition. The award is based on performance against defined Rockwell Automation criteria and measurements throughout the year. In addition to lead-time reduction, on time delivery, quality and productivity, selection as the Supplier of the Year also includes consideration of other key business metrics such as the quality and frequency of communication, the sharing of "best practices," joint investment in continuous improvement, responsiveness and active collaboration in identifying quantitative areas for product or process enhancement.
"Rockwell Automation's focus for 2012 was differentiation with the end goal of separating themselves from their competition through innovative products and programs," said John Laskowsky, president and CEO of C&M.
Rockwell Automation and C&M have derived a unified strategy centered on next generation product platforms and supply chain optimization. C&M's engineering value that includes capabilities such as custom bulk cable design, in house tooling fabrication and connector over-molding technologies, supported the technical aspects of new interconnect platforms. Rockwell Automation's extensive product and market knowledge around motors and drives provided the technical direction. As a result, both companies have been able to improve significantly the speed to market for new product commercialization.
