The TwinCAT HMI system leverages IT standards such as Microsoft Visual Studio for engineering, HTML5 for design and Websockets and HTTPS for secure communication. Programming is not required, as the graphic editor handles configuration. This Web-based product, based on HTML5 and JavaScript, acts “responsively,” adapting the display to best suit the screen in use regardless of the operating system, browser or device. The basic architecture is designed to facilitate numerous application scenarios, from the local HMI panel solution to multi-client, multi-server and multi-runtime concepts. Individual extensions can be implemented via defined interfaces.
