Cimplicity 9.0 allows users to create longer point names, including alarm, event and action IDs—now up to 256 mixed-case characters. To reduce alarm noise and operator distraction, this version features methods used in ISA18.2 for an improved alarm philosophy. Users can implement alarm-off and alarm-on delays, which alleviate conditions such as chattering and fleeting alarms. It also allows teams to annotate directly on charts, maintaining notes and history. The XY plot includes new AreaFill, line color and transparency features for determining the area that belongs to each item and area of overlap.
