Did You Hear the One About the Wireless Technology?

March 18, 2012

I know I have them, and I'm guessing you have them, too: Those friends that forward every joke and chain letter to you, filling your inbox with endless drivel. These days, they also fill the Facebook feeds. We want to delete their emails without looking, or hide them on Facebook, but we just can't help taking a peek because sometimes there's actually something there that makes us laugh.

But no matter how funny I might think it is, I will never forward that email because, well, I don't want to be that person. So...does it count if I repost it in a blog? No, not a #?!!#$ blog; it's a forum, right?

Does it make it more acceptable if I tell you that we’ve got some great stuff we’re working on in the wireless arena (making this cartoon totally relevant)? For our May issue, for example, freelancer Hank Hogan tells me he’s making good progress on a story about wireless sensors. Among other aspects, he’s looking at the struggle of cost vs. energy—how incorporating intelligence into the sensors can help preserve battery power, but it also drives up prices.

Stay tuned. It should be an interesting story as it unfolds.

In the meantime… Heard any good jokes lately?
