A Japanese team of skilled engineers from Suidobashi Heavy Industry have created a mechanical robot you can actually drive. They named it Kuratas.
This human-controlled robot was unveiled at Wonder Fest 2012 in Tokyo. It stands more than 12 ft tall and weights 9,920 ls. Kuratas features a humanoid upper body and four insect-like legs with heels. The design allows one person to sit inside its chest, where the driver is presented with a large LCD display, lighted indicators, a handled custom, control stick and a pair of joysitcks to operate its arms. The Kuratas has a top speed of six miles per hour and can be controlled using an iPhone app if desired.
