An independent industrial group focused on innovation and R&D is hosting an Innovation Challenge where students will design equipment that makes cars more intelligent and intuitive between now and 2030.
Currently 91 teams of engineering students from 17 countries have signed up for the Valeo competition to develop bold, revolutionary technology that reduces motor vehicle carbon emissions and promotes intuitive driving.
Valeo experts will select 20 teams to each receive a €5,000 grant to build a working prototype. The winning team will receive €100,000. Second and third-place teams will each receive €10,000
On Sept. 17, 2014, the top three teams will be announced and will present their innovative projects to a jury, which includes Jacques Aschenbroich, chief executive officer of Valeo, select members of Valero's senior management team and prominent figures from the science and design community.
