Pneumatic and electrical automation technology supplier Festo welcomed local high school and middle school students to its National Manufacturing Day 2013 on Oct. 4.
The event was created in an effort to reduce misconceptions about manufacturing and help the public better understand the operations behind the most innovative processes and products available today.
In the following video, Beth Goodbaum, lead reporter of IMT Career Journal, ThomasNet, interviews Matt Quigley at Festo's U.S. headquarters in Hauppauge, Long Island, N.Y, about his journey from beginning as an intern to becoming an engineer. Quigley discusses a long-term project he has been working on for application in medical laboratories.
