Industrial automation products supplier Siemens developed an online portal entirely devoted to providing professional education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Siemens STEM Academy was created in partnership with Siemens Foundation, Discovery Education, College Board and Oak Ridge Associated Universities in an initiative to give educators an online tool to help them in their lesson planning, while also introducing them to new approaches to teaching STEM concepts.

Their latest webinar "Practical Steps for Building the STEM Pipeline in Your School," held last month by Cindy Moss, director of global STEM initiatives for Discovery Education, takes a look at different resources, methods and concepts teachers can practice to strengthen awareness and continue the growth of STEM curriculum in classrooms around the world.

Visit the Siemens STEM Academy to learn more about STEM education and to get a schedule of upcoming webinars in 2013.
