D-Cubed Collision Detection Manager (CDM) software component V.45.0 detects collisions and computes clearances. It multi-threads the computation of the clearance (also known as the closest approach) between parts. Previous versions could return different correct solutions for the closest approach. This release is more consistent in the locations returned. The CDM provides collision detection capability in many parametric modeling systems and other applications, such as off-line CAM and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) simulation.
