High-resolution, color-sensor assembly uses a white LED to illuminate the surface of the object or liquid being sensed, while a color sensor chip measures hue, saturation and luminance of the light reflected from the surface. The sensor processes values through a programmable algorithm and distinguishes between several different colors and intensities.
