68.2% of Survey Respondents Said Their Safety Systems Were Separate and Hard-Wired

An electronic survey of Control Design readers was conducted in October 2013 in order to identify usage and application trends of machine safety among the industrial machine builders that comprise Control Design's readership.

The majority of respondent's safety systems were separate and hard-wired (68.2%) followed by digital network combining safety and control (27.3%), and separate digital network (4.6%).
