55.9% of Survey Respondents Say They Mainly Use Browser Capabilities for Troubleshooting

An electronic survey of Control Design readers was conducted in April 2013 in order to identify usage and application trends of HMI and industrial PCs among the industrial machine builders that comprise Control Design's readership .

When browser capabilities were included in our respondents' operator interfaces, the top main purpose(s) indicated were troubleshooting information (55.9%) and remote access (55.9%); operating data collection (41.7%), machine schematics (41.2%), and update software remotely (23.5%).
