Majority of Survey Respondents Say Graphical Display With Touchscreen or With Input Devices, Text-Based Display With Integral Input Keys or Discrete Panel Switches
An electronic survey of Control Design readers was conducted in April 2013 in order to identify usage and application trends of HMI & industrial PCs among the industrial machine builders that comprise Control Design's readership.
The majority of respondents (74.7%) indicated the operator interface hardware installed on their machines was a graphical display with touchscreen, followed by graphical display with key board or other input device (20.7), text-based display with integral input keys (3.5%), and discrete panel switches and lights only (1.2).
