Dec. 5, 2017
The event featured corporate and technical presentations, a plant tour and panel discussions
Lenze welcomed more than 40 teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators from 10 local high schools on Thursday, Nov. 30 to its North American headquarters in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. This professional development opportunity was sponsored by the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation and allowed attendees to learn more about possible career paths available to their students interested in pursuing engineering degrees.

“Lenze employees were excited to share their experiences and provide a first-hand view into the opportunities available to engineers within today’s dynamic manufacturing industry. The information provided to the audience will be used to encourage young people who are considering engineering careers in manufacturing,” said Floyd Spencer, sales and technical training manager, Lenze Americas.

Educators were introduced to Lenze Americas and the various career opportunities for engineers within the various business functions of the organization. Engineering professionals provided insights into potential career paths, while sharing what attracted them to engineering and the manufacturing field.

Representative Kevin J. Kuros (8th Worcester District), Representative Joseph McKenna (18th Worcester District), and Ms. Jeannie Hebert, president and CEO of the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce were in attendance.

"The Blackstone Valley Education Foundation does a fantastic job connecting educators, students, and employers to promote good jobs. I was happy to have the opportunity to join the many member school districts on today's visit of Lenze, a great modern manufacturing company right in the heart of the Blackstone Valley, to see that mission being carried out,” said McKenna.

The BVEF provides programs and services for school districts throughout the Blackstone Valley area.
