Machine OEMs continue to increase the use of industrial networks to interconnect control system devices on their machines and to connect to customer control systems and remote machine monitoring locations. As Ethernet’s ubiquity widens its scope of application and lowers its price/performance ratio, it becomes ever–more sensible for machine OEMs to evaluate Ethernet as a solution to their network needs.
