Mouser Electronics is an authorized global distributor of products from Intel, which announced the launch of Altera as its new standalone field-programmable gate array (FPGA) company. Chief Executive Officer Sandra Rivera and Chief Operating Officer Shannon Poulin unveiled their strategy to expand the company's portfolio, including the FPGA with artificial intelligence (AI) built into the fabric. They also announced Altera as the new company's brand.
Altera's portfolio and roadmap will address the growth in the target FPGA markets across cloud, network and edge while simultaneously enhancing the Quartus Prime software and AI capabilities to capitalize on this application segment. Altera looks to address opportunities with FPGA AI Suite and OpenVINO, which generate intellectual property (IP) based on standard frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch. Altera's FPGAs are designed to provide flexible solutions to address changing market demands, such as seamlessly integrating critical AI inferencing capabilities and intercepting evolving standards like PCI Express, CXL, Ethernet and 6G wireless.
As an authorized global distributor for Altera since 2013, Mouser will continue to offer the company's technologies, including products such as the Arria 10 FPGAs, Cyclone V FPGAs, and the Stratix V GX and Agilex F-Series FPGA development kits. Intel originally acquired Altera in 2015.
