Yokogawa, Soteica Visual MESA Partner to Optimize Sustainable Manufacturing

March 8, 2013
Joint Initiative to Help Customers Consumes Less Energy and Reduce Costs

Test, measurement, field instrumentation and process control manufacturer Yokogawa has formed a partnership with energy management and optimization solution services provider Soteica Visual MESA to improve its portfolio of energy management solutions (EMS).

Yokogawa now owns 44.3% of Soteica Visual MESA. This joint initiative will help Yokogawa enhance its sales and service channels for its customers. EMS will also help customers consume less energy and reduce manufacturing costs, according to Yokogawa.

"Our customer's technologically advanced plants need not only to reduce their energy consumption but also to obtain the best mix of conventional and renewable energy sources in order to protect the environment by reducing emissions of CO², NOX and other gases," said Yokogawa President Shuzo Kaihori. "To meet our customers' growing needs in this area, Soteica is an ideal fit for Yokogawa, allowing us to deliver field proven plantwide energy management and optimization solutions and services."

The partnership allows Yokogawa to sell Soteica Visual MESA's solution package but it will also improve Soteica Visual MESA's sales by creating expansion opportunities into other markets, particularly in Asia, through Yokogawa's global sales network.

There are approximately 3,400 plants worldwide that spend nearly $40 million or more on energy consumption that Yogokawa plans on targeting. Visual MESA can reduce yearly energy costs by approximately 2-5%.
