Originally introduced in 1987, Schneider Electric is celebrating the 30th anniversary of HMI solution Wonderware. Schneider is readying its next-generation of offerings powered by Wonderware, which will include cloud and subscription-based services.
When it was initially released the InTouch HMI was the first HMI built on a Microsoft Windows operating system, quickly catapulting Schneider Electric to one of the fastest-growing software companies in the United States during the early 1990s.
Now more than 750,000 Wonderware software licenses have been installed around the world at 100,000 sites. Recently, Wonderware powered one of the industry’s first “model-driven” manufacturing execution systems.
