V-shaped cams reduce linear drive speed
Linear Drive Assembly
Model RG linear drive assemblies have end stops fitted with v-shaped cams that reduce the linear speed of the drive without requiring electronic controls or a reduction in motor speed. After reversal, the v-cams permit ramp up of drive speed, eliminating possible whipping action of tools such as spray heads, probes and cutting blades. Because speed ramp down/up is mechanically controlled, linear drive operation is requires less operator training. The v-cam option is available on linear drive assemblies and may be retrofitted in the field. Length of the cam arms is specific to the size of the drive on which the v-cam will be used.
