Customized brushless motor design includes dynamic labyrinth seal for protection from dust, while allowing high shaft speeds. Stainless steel cable gland and silicon cable sleeve provide ingress protection. Four-pole brushless motor is optimized for 24 hr/day operation at speeds 500 to 15,000 rpm, and uses skewed rare-earth permanent magnets to minimize cogging at low speeds. The motor is electronically commutated using integrated Hall-effect devices.
