Leine & Linde’s 800 series of rotary encoders now include integrated diagnostic capabilities in its entire line. Using the Advanced Diagnostic System (ADS Online), the encoders can provide additional problem-solving information directly to the system operator. The newest versions of the 850 shaft encoder and the 861/862 hollow-shaft encoders now have incorporated this functionality into the encoder foundation. ADS Online monitors a number of encoder function parameters. It indicates whether output voltage level is correct, output states change correctly, the correct number of pulses are present each revolution and whether the optics are performing within defined levels for supply current and brightness.
