The Maxpos 50/5 is a compact EtherCAT slave designed for durability even under harsh conditions. The motion controller is equipped with field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology, allowing high control cycle rates to be achieved with short cycle times. For trajectory planning, motion control tasks with a current controller clock speed of 100 kHz and a communication cycle time of 100 μs can be achieved with a suitable EtherCAT master. Many feedback possibilities enable the use of permanent magnet-activated dc motors with encoder and brushless motors (Maxon EC) with digital Hall sensors and encoders up to 250 W.
