The 20-A iBH series of point-of-load nonisolated dc-dc converters accepts a range input of 3.5 to 14 Vdc. The series operates from either a 5- or 12-Vdc bus and provides output voltages from 0.7 to 5.5 V, with efficiencies of up to 96%. Capable of delivering up to 80 W, the converters can operate in high-ambient-temperature, low-airflow environments with minimal power derating. The surface-mount converters occupy 0.36 sq-in of board space, measuring 0.8 x 0.45 x 0.39 in with a weight of 6 g. Full protection, with auto-recovery, is provided against input under-voltage, output short-circuit and over-temperature.
