Designed for high-volume data manipulation and storage, the R5U2723 provides 20 front-accessible removable 3½-in hard drives and three rear-mounted drives for the operating system. All drives can be configured for a variety of RAID implementations or as a JBOD. With current drive capacity, that is 200 TB of online storage. The server supports an EATX motherboard providing up to two Xeon processors and room for two GPU cards for supercomputer performance. Built with a military heritage, the server is constructed of heavy-gauge aircraft-grade aluminum with a milled front panel. A welded front door includes an air filter and EMI filter.
