The Leine & Linde FSI 800 series rotary encoders are suitable for use in rugged motor drive applications. These encoders come complete with high-current HTL (HCHTL) signals, making them suitable for high-disturbance environments. The series is highlighted by a hollow-shaft encoder called the FSI 862, which has been developed for certification in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1, EN 61800-5-2, IEC 61508 and IEC 62061. This allows the encoder to be used in Functional Safety applications up to risk level SIL2 and PLd, Cat. 3. As a guarantee for safe installation, the encoder model is equipped with a keyway, to be matched with a shaft with a key.
