A stainless steel version of the precision roller pinion system (RPS) is available. The RPS engages two teeth simultaneously to achieve accuracy with zero backlash at any length. The system also is quiet and 99% efficient. Stainless steel makes the system corrosion-resistant, with a life of up to 36 million meters. The RPS provides a low maintenance, durable alternative to rack-and-pinion, ball-screw and belt-drive technology. Features include speeds of 11 m/s (36 ft/sec), accuracy of ±50 µm and unlimited length (custom lengths and modular components available).
