Overriding equipment safety protection or “muting” requires a yellow or white or red beacon to signify to personnel that equipment safety features are temporarily overridden. Designed with circuit redundancy, the monitored beacon ensures that a simple beacon failure does not jeopardize personnel safety. Via a relay, the illuminated yet failed beacon can safely de-energize the equipment and avoid personnel injury. Typical applications include signaling to warn of a teaching mode of new programs for robots.
