Banner Engineering's Q5X series of high power, mid-range laser distance sensors for reliable detection of challenging targets is designed to solve distance-based applications, even at acute angles, at a range from 9.5 centimeters to 2 meters. The high-power laser sensor detects extremely dark objects, black targets against a black background, black targets against a shiny metal background, clear and reflective objects and multicolor packaging.
The Q5X sensor is able to deploy quickly and includes a dual teach mode that enables the sensor to verify multiple conditions—such as part presence and orientation—with a single device.
The Q5X sensor has a rectangular housing and 270-degree rotatable M12 QD. The sensor is also rated IP67 for reliable performance in wet environments.
The Q5X can be programmed via on-board user interface, remote teach, IO-Link, or optional Remote Sensor Display (RSD).The RSD enables remote setup and monitoring, and it stores up to 6 configurations to facilitate product changeover and simplify device replacement. The RSD can remain in-line for monitoring of sensors in difficult-to-reach locations, or it can be removed after configuration.
