The European Union's Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) will fundamentally change how industrial machinery is designed, deployed, maintained, and supported. As manufacturers become responsible for managing vulnerabilities and delivering security updates, machine builders must evolve from shipping products once to managing software continuously -- capabilities traditionally associated with software companies.

While the CRA currently only pertains to the EU, regulations enacted there have a tendency to ripple to other regions due to its large market influence (i.e. the Brussels Effect).

In this webinar, we will explore the core requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act and why they are driving a fundamental shift toward software-defined machine architectures. We will also examine the challenges of delivering cybersecurity updates, and why the solution lies in architectures built for continuous deployment and management from the cloud.

Beyond compliance, we will discuss why this architectural shift represents a significant business opportunity. Organizations that successfully embrace software-defined architectures can create new service-based revenue streams and move beyond the constraints of traditional hardware-centric business models.

Attendees Will Gain Insight Into:

  • The real implications of the Cyber Resilience Act beyond regulatory compliance
  •  Why legacy machine architectures are becoming increasingly unsustainable
  •  How software-defined architectures enable continuous delivery of software, security, and functionality
  • The role of cloud-based lifecycle management in supporting long-term machine operations
  • Practical first steps toward modernization, including the role of PC-based real-time platforms
