3D motion in magnetic actuator modeling

Sept. 22, 2005
This paper presents a new modeling scheme to increase the capabilities of finite element method (FEM) computation tools to handle motion in 3D problems. Learn how you can accurately model both translating and pivoting motion, either with limited re-meshing or none at all.
By Philippe Wendling, Magsoft Corp.THE MODELING takes into account the interactions between the motion of the rigid body, the external circuit coupling and the FEM computation. A new technique has been developed to handle both translating and pivoting motion. These new schemes have been validated on an E-shaped magnetic actuator.
