Video Contest Sparks Imaginations of Next-Generation Innovators

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) teams participating in FIRST LEGO League (FLL), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) were invited to submitted a video that answers the question: "What could your team engineer that would have a positive impact on your community and our world?" to Rockwell Automation for its "Engineering Our Future" video contest.

The public voted Nov. 12 through Nov. 29 on the best video submitted by participating teams. The top three teams from each program to receive the most votes were awarded a one-time team grant to be applied the 2013-2014 season for FTC and FRC teams or the 2014-2015 season for FLL teams. Rockwell Automation awarded $10,000 to the winning teams.

FIRST programs were designed to help elementary, middle school and high school students develop skills and knowledge through creativity, collaboration, persistence and confidence. The video contest is one of many that aims to spark the imaginations of next-generation innovators to get them thinking about the ways they can apply engineering skills to make a difference in their communities and around the world.
