The 2012 Sensors Expo & Conference returns to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., June 6-7, and will feature a variety of pavilion focuses, including MEMS, energy harvesting, wireless, and big data and cloud; as well as a Technology Update Theater.

The conference includes several new tracks, including Applied Sensors, Big Data & Analytics, RFID/M2M, and Sensor & System Design, according to Wendy Loew, group show director for Questex Media Group, which produces Sensors Expo.

Will Tu, director of embedded at Advanced RISC Machine (ARM), a company that designs and builds processors, will participate in the Applied Sensors track with his discussion of sensors, networks and software as the three catalysts behind the Internet of Things, which is expected revolutionize industrial and other applications.

In the RFID/M2M track, Joe Jesson, CTO of Xact Technology, will present practical and reliable solutions for moving sensor and RFID information to locations where local Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet communications links are not available.

"Challenges of Integrating Sensor Data" is a highlight of the Sensor & System Design track. Jeannette Wilson, product line manager, consumer and industrial sensors, Freescale, explains the technical challenges in sensor systems such as increased complexity, software fusion, power consumption and effectiveness of data aggregation.
