EtherCAT Technology Group re-elects three board members

Dec. 20, 2024
ETG held its annual membership meeting at the SPS trade show

The EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) re-elected all three board members at its membership assembly meeting, held the first evening of the SPS trade show in Nuremburg, Germany. Board members are elected every other year.

The following board members will serve for the next two years:

  • Dmitry Dzilno from Applied Materials in Santa Clara, California, represents a major user of EtherCAT technology.
  • Dr. Gerhard Grunwald from the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen-Weßling represents EtherCAT users in science and research.
  • Martin Rostan from Beckhoff Automation represents the inventor of the technology and the manufacturers of EtherCAT devices.

ETG also reported a productive SPS conference. Together with 51 co-exhibitors, ETG presented more than 500 EtherCAT products at its joint booth in Hall 5 and was able to make more contacts with trade show visitors than in the previous year.

ETG joins key user companies from various industries and leading automation suppliers to support and advance EtherCAT technology, including more than 7,950 members from 75 countries. EtherCAT was introduced in 2003 and has been an International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard since 2007.
