Siemens acquires assets of RVSI Acuity CiMatrix

Agreement to purchase RSVI will enhance Siemens' position in factory automation sensors.
Siemens Energy and Automation has completed the acquisition of the assets of RVSI Acuity CiMatrix, a division of Robotic Visions Systems, Nashua, New Hampshire. On August 26, 2005, Siemens submitted an offer for the intended purchase of the assets of RVSI Acuity CiMatrix and a binding asset purchase agreement was signed between the Chapter 11 Trustee and Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. The sale was completed after receiving approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) is expected to enhance its position in the machine vision sensor market segment with the acquisition and will likely invest in the Nashua location as its global center for machine vision sensors. RSVI Acuity CiMatrix employs approximately 100 people who will be integrated into the Siemens business structure.
