Rockwell Automation Enhances Wireless Solutions With Purchase of vMonitor

Rockwell to Gain Access to vMonitor's Installed Base of Wireless Wellhead Monitoring Systems

Rockwell Automation's Control Products & Solutions operating segment has agreed to purchase global technology supplier of wireless solutions, vMonitor, to improve production in the oil & gas industry. The acquisition is expected to close within two months.

vMonitor is a provider of Digital Oilfield implementations and global remote operations, and delivers monitoring and control solutions for wellhead and upstream applications that combine wireless instrumentation and communication with visualization software. The company's products help users make better informed decisions and increase productivity.

"Strategically, vMonitor's world class digital oilfield technology and services, combined with our comprehensive portfolio of solutions, strengthen our ability to deliver end-to-end projects for the oil and gas sector," said Terry Gebert, vice president and general manager for Rockwell Automation Global Solutions.

Rockwell Automation will gain access to vMonitor's installed base of wireless wellhead monitoring systems for natural and artificially lifted wells (more than 6,000 sites), along with additional technologies that include an all-wireless portfolio of wellhead sensors and transmitters, remote terminal units, gateways and modems, as well as turn-key monitoring and control systems and services for application in oil & gas sectors.
