While tomorrow is the Fourth of July, a long celebrated holiday which marks the day of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and freedom for the U.S. from the British Colonies, thousands of people will gather in their nearby towns to watch fireworks.
But, how many people know the science behind a firework? Fireworks are documented as originating in ancient China, and the different combinations of chemicals are what produce the vibrant colors we see. A firework is basically a combustible element.
