The R10x and R20x photoelectric sensors with multipixel technology (MPT) from Pepperl+Fuchs take advantage of geometric triangulation for distance measurements, enabling highly precise and reliable measurements even at close range. The sensor’s light source is designed to create an extremely bright, high-energy light spot on the object and therefore a reflection that is precisely reproduced on the receiving multipixel array. Intelligent software algorithms calculate the exact distance to the object from the position of the reflectance center on the array. This allows the R10x and R20x measuring and switching sensors to precisely detect the position of an object and clearly distinguish it from the background.
