Measuring RMS values of voltage and current

Jan. 31, 2006
This application note addresses standard classic measurements of voltage (current) values based on average or effective root mean square (RMS) values of complex functions, and provides examples of practical considerations for using the RMS Equation.
From Dataforth

THE RMS value is the effective value of a varying voltage or current. It is the equivalent steady DC (constant) value which gives the same effect.
