The key strategies and tools for implementing IIoT
Nov. 2, 2016
Beckhoff's automation specialist Daymon Thompson leads a webinar on the impact of IIoT and Industry 4.0.
Meet the speaker
Daymon Thompson is the automation specialist at Beckhoff North America. As automation specialist, Thompson acts as technical liaison and represents the Beckhoff software product management and development teams in the North American market, focusing on the advanced automation and control software, TwinCAT 3.
The use of connected machines in manufacturing can drive business insights through the integration of data analytics. This provides the basis for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industrie 4.0. The application of these core concepts to manage data can be applied to achieve process optimization that drives decisions in continuous improvement initiatives. Manufacturers increasingly demand connectivity, and the machine builders who can deliver it will establish a competitive edge and new revenue streams.
In this educational seminar moderated by editor in chief Mike Bacidore, Daymon Thompson, automation specialist with Beckhoff Automation, will highlight key implementation strategies and tools available for IIoT applications and directions on how to get there. Other highlights will include the intrinsic benefits of increased connectivity and the flexibility from machines that can provide secure global access to manufacturing and production data via encrypted cloud-based systems.
