The UniStream PLC+HMI series includes message queueing telemetry transport (MQTT), which runs over TCP/IP based on a publish-subscribe structure. It supports MQTT as a “client” that can both publish and subscribe to messages. The series can publish data to a defined broker according to a configured topic, such as a machine, and the messages can include application data such as temperature or pressure. It also can publish periodically, according to a time period set in the configuration or according to an event. It likewise can receive data from a defined broker on a defined topic to which UniStream is subscribed.
