The Softing 5069-SDN, officially named the compactLink HW-DN, is a DeviceNet communication module designed for in-chassis installation in Rockwell Automation’s current 5380 controller platform. It is designed to enable Rockwell Automation users to migrate from legacy Allen-Bradley PLCs, such as the PLC-5, SLC-500 and 1769 CompactLogix, to the 5380 platform while maintaining connectivity with existing DeviceNet devices. The 5069-SDN is designed to enable seamless DeviceNet integration within the 5069 chassis architecture. The compactLink HW-DN provides control, configuration and data exchange between 5380 controllers and DeviceNet devices. This module supports the same message and data types as the legacy 1769-SDN and includes AutoScan functionality. It supports up to 63 DeviceNet nodes. Its in-chassis form factor is designed to minimize the need for additional wiring or DIN rail space.
