The iR-ECAT coupler facilitates integration of iR series I/O in to EtherCAT applications, working as an EtherCAT slave device that an EtherCAT master can control. The device streamlines the process to establish communication by using rotary switches to configure Node ID and being ready to use on the network once connected via Ethernet cable. All that is needed is to import the coupler’s EtherCAT slave information (ESI) description file to the master device and configure the ETG5001-compliant coupler accordingly to start communicating with the I/O via EtherCAT. It can be connected to miscellaneous iR series modules to meet specific application requirements.
