The iR-ECAT communication coupler facilitates integration of iR series I/O modules into EtherCAT applications. The I/O modules work as an EtherCAT slave, which allows control by EtherCAT master controllers after importing the EtherCAT Slave Information (ESI) description file of the iR-ECAT. Compliant to ETG5001, the coupler is equipped with two Ethernet ports, which eliminates the need for switches or hubs. It can be connected to miscellaneous iR series modules suitable for the application. The series’ modular design allows users to add I/O modules as needed.
