SoftPLC edge gateway

SoftPLC Gateways can be user-configured to support a mix of industrial protocols
April 13, 2026

SoftPLC Gateways can be user-configured to support a mix of industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP, ModbusTCP, Modbus, DF1, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O (RIO) or Data Highway Plus (DH+), as well as internet protocols like MQTT and HTTP, allowing data to be sent from the manufacturing location to the cloud, commonly called edge computing. For systems located in remote areas, by using a SoftPLC gateway, a cellular modem and SoftPLC’s TagWell cloud platform, users have bi-directional access to equipment for maintenance and data collection. TagWell supports a web browser interface for viewing status/alarms, entering new setpoints or changing I/O values. TagWell can also interface to SCADA systems.
