Automation Direct has added a Codesys programmable logic controller (PLC) solution, and the new PSCDS-622 control processing unit (CPU) features a Codesys engine in a Productivity 2000 controller form factor, which can easily monitor and control signal interfaces with I/O modules. The CPU is a compact, powerful processor providing 50 MB of user memory, two high-speed Ethernet ports, support for several communication protocols including EtherNet/IP and MQTT, two software selectable (RS-232 or RS-485) serial ports for peripheral device interfacing or controller networking, and micro SD data logging. The Codesys integrated development environment (IDE) provides full IEC 61131-3 programming with sequential function chart, ladder diagram, function block, and structured text options.
