Low-code development platforms can help develop rapid industrial automation in the future. PwC's Global Industrial Manufacturing Sector Outlook report disclosed that nearly 50% of manufacturers are planning to automate their key process by 2030.

Chandrakant Deshmukh, senior vice president of connected enterprise services (IoT) at Mastek recently reported for Machine Design what low-code platforms bring to the industrial manufacturing table, its convergence with AI and unified namespace (UNS), and more.

Among the challenges low-code platforms face, integration with legacy systems remains a persistent problem. Scalability from pilot to enterprise-level implementation is also a necessary obstacle to hurdle, but can be addressed by establishing governance models to keep citizen-developed workflows secure.

To learn more about low-code development platforms and its usefulness within the industrial automation sector, read Deshmukh's full article from Machine Design.
