EtherCAT P offers one-cable automation by combining EtherCAT communication and power in a single four-wire standard Ethernet cable. This facilitates direct supply of both the EtherCAT P slaves as well as the connected sensors and actuators with two voltages possible. This technology couples the currents directly into the 100-Mbit line’s wires, enabling compact connections. A new plug line has been designed to avoid incorrect connections to standard EtherCAT slaves. The plug and cable family covers all applications from the 24-V I/O level up to drives with 400 Vac or 600 Vdc and a current of up to 64 A.
